Thanksgiving Football

Thanksgiving Football: The tradition continues in Detroit, as the Lions will host a Thanksgiving Day game. And this year, they’ll welcome the NFC North-leading Chicago Bears to Detroit in a huge rivalry game.

Game Info
Chicago Bears (7-3) at Detroit Lions (4-6), Thursday, Nov. 22 at 12:30 p.m. ET

Game Preview
The Chicago Bears are coming off a strong performance on Sunday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings. Chicago’s defense is a menacing group, headlined by soul snatcher Khalil Mack, who is manhandling offensive linemen with one hand. The Bears defensive squad has allowed the third-least points (195) and average yards per game (314.4) in the NFL.

However, the Bears will have some uncertainty, as Mitchell Trubisky was diagnosed with an injury to his throwing shoulder. Head coach Matt Nagy is not concerned, as he believes Trubisky will be ready to play on Turkey Day.

As for the Lions, they are coming off a crucial win over the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday. However, it has been an up-and-down season for the Lions. They have an average defense to go along with a bottom-tier offense.

The Lions finally have their game-changing running back in rookie Kerryon Johnson. However, he will be out for the next week or so due to a knee sprain. The Lions will have to rely on LeGarrette Blount and Theo Riddick, both of whom face off against a Chicago defense that ranks the best in the league against the rush (77.8 yards/game).

TV, Live Stream, Radio Info
The game will air live on CBS at 12:30 p.m. ET live from Ford Field. If you’re not near a television, you can listen to the game on WBBM/WCFS-FM in Chicago and WJR 760 AM in the Detroit area. More live stream info can be found on NFL Reddit Streams.

Prediction
The Bears are on a VERY short week having played Sunday Night Football against the Vikings, and now turn around to face Detroit on the road at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are coming off a big win over the Carolina Panthers, and with Mitchell Trubisky banged up, Matt Patricia should take advantage of that with his defense.

Lions 23, Bears 17
